Kenny Stahl Brilliant,
world-class jazz flutist, Kenny Stahl is an accomplished recording
artist, composer, and popular attraction at the Monterey Jazz
Festival. His expressive flute adds the perfect sweetening to
the Latin Samba Para Todos,
to the ballad Smile Behind Your
Eyes and to the bittersweet song, The Silence of
Goodbye. |
Yuji
Tojo Playing
classical, jazz, rock, pop,and traditional Japanese music since the
age of 9, Yuji has toured internationally with Lacy J. Dalton
among other notable artists. Yuji played his Fender
Stratocaster on the ballad, Saved By a
Kiss, and gave Imagination a dreamy
moodiness. He added the reggae rhythm on Dance in Groove Minor. For Moody
Nights, Yuji added the acoustic rhythm and
enhanced the song with a intriguing slide guitar.

Richard Bryant A
versatile vocalist, Richard toured with the Doobie Brothers and
Little River Band and now performs with The White Album
Ensemble and Rubber Revolver. Richard first
worked with Alex in 1995 and sings lead vocals on the title track,
Only Dreaming, and on Yesterday's Heartache. He
also sings background vocals on Innocent
Eyes, I Reserve the Right to
Love and The Silence of
Goodbye. |
Richard Chon Active in his Western Swing band,
The Saddle
Cats, and currently touring with
Dan Hicks and the Hot
Licks, Richard adds
his fiddle to I Reserve the Right to
Love. He also arranged and played the
nine exquisite violin tracks on the title song, Only Dreaming, giving that song its
ethereal quality. |
Jon Close An Emmy Award winner for original
composition and arrangement of the music for the PBS documentary,
Liquid Stage: The Lure of
Surfing. Jon played the Hammond B3 on
Saved By A Kiss, and added
his dynamic and lyrical piano improvisations to Smile Behind Your Eyes, Yesterday's Heartache, Imagination, Moody Nights, Innocent Eyes and The Silence of Goodbye. |
Tony
Lindsay Eleven time Grammy winner,
singer, songwriter, and producer Tony Lindsay is
internationally known as the lead singer for guitar legend Carlos
Santana and he can be heard on such hit albums as Milagro, Shaman,
Ceremony, Food for Thought, and Supernatural. Tony first
worked with Alex in 1995 when he recorded the lead vocal
for Innocent
Eyes. |
Joe Indence A
highly respected musician in the Monterey Bay area, Joe has
established himself as a versatile and talented solo
pianist, as a recording artist and as leader of his
own duo or trio. Joe worked with Alex as his piano teacher
for many years and plays organ on Samba Para Todos and piano on
I Reserve the Right to
Love.

Gary
Regina Multi-instrumentalist
performer, recording artist, producer
and engineer, Gary has played with numerous
musicians across the United States and Australia. A
long-time friend of Alex, Gary played the hauntingly
beautiful saxophone solo on Imagination in 1991. He
also added the dynamic soprano sax on Saved By a Kiss, and created a
four saxophone section for That
Letter.

Gary Kehoe An
inspired drummer and percussionist, Gary Kehoe has played with
musicians throughout the Monterey and San Francisco Bay
areas. He is currently with the unique SambaDa, which combines Brazilian Samba with
funky Latin dance grooves. Gary added percussion to all
the songs on the CD Only Dreaming: The Music of Alex Arguello. He
also played his drum set on Smile Behind Your Eyes, Saved By a
Kiss, Yesterday's
Heartache, Imagination, Moody Nights, Innocent Eyes, and
Dance in
Groove Minor. |
Mark
Whittington Holding down the bottom
end for over 30 years, playing with numerous groups, and
"getting paid by the note," Mark Whittington was the
verstatile bass player for the Rhythm Casters. Mark now plays
with Doghouse Riley in the San Jose area. Mark laid down the bass
tracks for every song on the CD Only Dreaming: The Music of Alex
Arguello. |
Simone Cox Born in
Augsburg, Germany, growing up in a musical family which includes
Blues Hall of Famer Junior Parker, graduate of Stanford
University, Simone has sung, danced and toured with a number
of rhythm and blues groups. Most recently a member
of the Rhythm Casters, Simone sings the sexy vocal on
Imagination and background
vocals on Standing Right Here in the Rain and I Reserve the Right to
Love.

Mike Culver In addition excelling on vibes and marimba, Mike
is an accomplished harpist and is part of several instrumental
ensembles including The Monterey Harp Trio, The Cypress Coast
Strings, The Mike Culver Trio and The Bolero
Brothers. Mike played the vibes on Dance in Groove Minor and
added the marimba to Standing Right Here in the Rain. |
Paul
Palumbo Former
Rhythm Caster and one of its founding members, Paul Palumbo has
been drumming for many groups over the last 30 years.
Most recently a member of the modern country group, The Bullband and
the Chris Ellis band, Shadow Opera, Paul
played the drums on Samba Para Todos and That
Letter. |
Nick
Chiulos Guitarist
Nick Chiulos has been playing for over 30 years with many different
groups. As a member of the Rhythm Casters, Nick played rhythm
guitar on That
Letter and lead guitar on I
Reserve the Right to Love. He also sings
background vocals on That Letter. Most recently Nick has
played with Doghouse
Riley and Camp Danger. |
Margie Dally Cellist Margie Dally
performs in many ensembles, including the Monterey String Quartet,
Heartstrings, and Ensemble Monterey. She studied with the
Kronos
Quartet and is versatile in styles from
Celtic to Jazz. Margie added the cello to Samba Para Todos, and The Silence of Goodbye. |
Laura Burian Since 1992, Laura Burian has been performing with
Heartstrings, a string quartet that blends folk and
traditional music from the Celtic world and beyond. For the CD
Only Dreaming:
The Music of Alex Arguello, Laura added her violin
arrangement to Samba Para Todos.

Marty Bartoli Former
music educator and jazz band director at Monterey Peninsula
College, Marty added his delightful accordion to Standing Right Here in the
Rain before he completed a permanent move to
Albuquerque, New Mexico. |
